Maoists have abducted 13 people from a remote village of Udaypur district in eastern Nepal despite their ceasefire announced last month, Army said on Friday.

They have taken control of the villagers and headed towards some unknown destination, Army said.

The rebels have also obstructed the ongoing construction works of Devsthal-Kaindanda-Chaurjahari road section in Jajarkot district.
They have asked 5 per cent charge from the contractors and local people involved in the construction of the road from their payment and asked to perform the works as per their instructions, Army said.
