A school building was blown up suspected by CPI (Maoists) in Chapi village in Naxal-affected Palamu district, police said on Monday.

A group of ultras triggered the blast with dynamite and blew up the two-storey building of a private school last night, police said.

The school, which was being run by an NGO, was badly damaged in the blast.
Frequent use of the building by para-military forces was cited as the reason for triggering the blast in a handwritten note left at site by the Maoists.
The school, which was situated around 15 km from Panki police station, was closed two years ago.
