The Maoists put up posters announcing the bandh in parts of Koraput district including Boipariguda area where 11 security personnel were killed in a landmine blast on April 4.

"We have seized some Maoist posters from Dandabadi, about 70 km from here, under Boipariguda police limits," police sources said, adding that other posters were found elsewhere demanding withdrawal of paramilitary forces from the district.

The posters claimed that Central Security Forces, in the name of anti-Maoist operations, were harassing tribals and demanded that they be withdrawn.

Security personnel have been put on high alert in the Maoist-hit pockets of the district, Superintendent of Police (Koraput), Anup Kumar, Sahoo said.
