President of Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-M), Pushpakamal Dahal alias Prachanda, issued a statement through the e-mail to the media here calling for holding a dialogue with the government, political parties, the King and the civil society under the supervision of the United Nations.

Any dialogue between the King and the parliamentary forces alone could not resolve the present political crisis facing the country, Prachanda said.

"So, we urge to include the Maoists, civil society and political parties in the dialogue for resolving the problem," he added.

However, the Maoists reiterated their earlier stand of talks involving all the sides, an interim government, and holding constituent assembly elections for drafting a new Constitution

Prachanda has also urged the five agitating parties to take initiative for holding such joint talks involving all the sides.

The Maoists offer for talks comes ahead of their three day general strike beginning Tuesday.
