Maoist rebels on Saturday opened fire on security personnel accompanying former Director General of Border Security Force EN Rammohan, who is probing the Maoist attack in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh, on April 6. There were no casualties. Rammohan, who is investigating the Dantewada massacre that left 75 CRPF men dead, was attacked even before he could reach the ambush site near Chintalnar. Dantewada Superintendent of Police Amresh Mishra said the security forces fired back. The exchange of fire continued for a few rounds. “The rebels fled into the forest nearby,” he said.
