Dinesh Mahto (50) was shot dead at Ghatbera village under Balarampur police station at about 6.30 pm when he was going from his house to a shop.

Mahto has been a target of the Maoists for long.

The CPI(M) have called 12-hour Balarampur bandh tomorrow.
