Maoist guerrillas gunned down four people, including a girl, on the outskirts of Ranchi in Jharkhand, police said on Friday.

The rebels started indiscriminate firing at the house of Pradeep Munda of Barihatu village on Thursday night, police said. Munda is said to be spearheading an anti-Maoist movement in the area.

He died along with his two guests -- Sonaram Munda and Sanjay Mahto. His daughter also died in the firing. One girl of the neighbouring house was injured.
