Maoists set ablaze several bridge construction machines at Chamotola in Bihar's East Champaran district. Over 50 ultras armed with sophisticated weapons drove the labourers out of their makeshift tents and set afire several bridge construction machines late last night, Superintendent of Police Umesh Kumar said on Tuesday.

Over 50 ultras armed with sophisticated weapons drove the labourers out of their makeshift tents and set afire several bridge construction machines late last night, Superintendent of Police Umesh Kumar said on Tuesday.

They burnt a generator set, a roller, a mixer machine besides several other machines parked at the site, Kumar said.

A private firm was engaged in construction of a bridge over a river at Chamotola.
