Snubbing the seven-day deadline to lay down arms by West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, the Maoists have demanded release of all political prisoners.
Rebutting Mamata Banerjee's 'jungle mafia' remark, Maoist posters found on Sunday at Salboni in Junglemahal, called Trinamool workers jungle mafia.
They stuck to their grounds of no talks unless joint forces are removed form that area.
Ashok Jiban, spokesperson of People's Committee Against Police Atrocities, said, "First we want the withdrawal of the security forces, then we want the unconditional release of all the prisoners and withdrawal of false cases."
The West Bengal CM had issued a seven-day deadline for the Maoists to lay down arms for peace talks on Saturday while addressing a rally in Jhargram.
Blaming them for the recent killing of two Trinamool Congress workers, Mamata said, "Maoists have no ideals. They are 'supari' killers, jungle mafia. People hate violence. We initiated the peace process. We will continue the negotiations, but you (the rebels) have to lay down arms".
