Australian batsman Damien Martyn on Friday said spinning tracks would no more pose a major threat to the world champions as they did during their previous visits to India.
Martyn, who struck a sparkling 71 against Mumbai on the second day of the tour opener at the Brabourne stadium, said the Australians were by now accustomed to the subcontinent conditions and would not be overwhelmed by the slow turning tracks.
"We have played in these conditions before and there are no demons out there as of now. There is so much cricket these days we are used to (the conditions) by now," Martyn said after the second day's play in the tour match against Mumbai.
"We have been very comfortable with our game plan and how we approach the Indian spinners. It was good to reinforce it today," he said, adding the Australians' show in the TVS Cup one-day series last year against India was a confidence booster.
"Getting runs in these conditions against the spinners gives you confidence. I feel good in these conditions," he added.
Martyn, who retired to the dressing room when he was batting well, said he did so partly because of a stomach bug and also because he wanted to give other batsmen a look in.
"It was a combination of the two factors," he said.
