Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati on Saturday said the Centre's dilly dallying attitude was responsible for the inconvenience caused to people during the blockade of railway tracks by the Jat community at Kafoorpur in Jyotiba Phule Nagar since March 5.
Agitators cleared the railway tracks following an appeal from the state government, Mayawati said while speaking to the media in Lucknow on Saturday.
She said the Akhil Bharatiya Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti had blocked the railway tracks to press their demand for reservation to their community in central services.
The Uttar Pradesh government supports their demand, she said.
The chief minister said the Centre wanted to linger on the issue as part of its strategy and added that the Centre should now take immediate steps to find an early solution to the issue.
The Centre should take the state government into confidence while dealing with such sensitive issues, she said.
The CM said the issue was directly concerned with the Centre.
The Centre should have clarified its stand on the issue soon after the tracks were blocked, said Mayawati.

{{/usCountry}}She added the Centre should have put the clearing of tracks a precondition to hold talks with the agitators.
The Centre however failed to do so and take a clear stand on the issue and the Allahabad High Court had to intervene to pass orders on the issue, she said.
"We are grateful to the high court," she said.
Without naming anybody, the chief minister said certain casteist forces were making efforts to destabilise her government ever since its installation. She said such forces have used all tactics to destabilise her government.
CM said the state government had requested the Centre to make 50 companies of the Central Para Military Forces (CPMF) available on Friday evening.
But these companies have not yet reached, she said.
The state government worked out a strategy to get the tracks cleared on Friday itself and decided to send its own forces for the purpose, she said.
Mayawati said she had sent her cabinet colleague Chaudhary Lakshmi Narain, principal secretary home Fateh Bahadur and DGP Karamveer Singh to Jyotiba Phule Nagar on Saturday morning to implement the state government's strategy to deal with the issue.
