SAMAJWADI PARTY state general secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav on Friday said an FIR would be lodged against BSP president Mayawati who might be sent to jail.

In a hurriedly called press meet, he termed the BSP workers’ conference a flop show.

Shivpal alleged that BSP workers dug up roads, damaged the dividers and removed the speed breakers from Ambedkar Maidan to Hazratganj. The PWD officers were directed to prepare an estimate of the damage.

According to a rough estimate, the State Government suffered loss of Rs 100 crore. PWD spent Rs 300 crore to construct new roads and repair the old ones in the city. “Now, we have to repair the damaged roads,” he added.

BSP leaders and workers were in celebration mood, but the SP leaders were not amused at all.

“To erect the welcome gates, the roads were damaged on the directive of the BSP leader. We will serve notice on the BSP to pay for the loss caused to the state exchequer. An FIR would be lodged against the BSP leader and she will be put behind the bar,” Yadav said.

When told that welcome gates were also erected by the SP supporters on various occasions, Shivpal said, “We will find out if permission was taken to erect the gates by the party supporters.”

About the action against the MLAs who indulged in cross voting during
the Rajya Sabha and Vidhan Parishad elections, Shivpal said party would
soon take action against the five rebel MLAs.
