Now, you can sell, buy or register your property in Mayfield Gardens as the Town and Country Planning Department (TCP) renewed the developer's licence. The department had cancelled the developer's licence after it found gross deficiencies in terms of civic infrastructure.
The appellate authority has renewed the licence of Sheetal International Pvt Ltd subject to fulfilment of an undertaking that it will pay 50 per cent of the outstanding extra development charges (EDC) within the next two months.
Some of the other conditions are that the developer will set up a 66 KVA electric sub-station in one year's time and construct all community buildings within 18 months.
The residents of Mayfield Gardens had to recently sweat it out after their electric transformer developed a snag, snapping power for three days.
"We are not sure the developer will do justice to us. The cancellation and renewal after cancellation is just a hogwash to cover the shortcomings of the TCP which has no experience to handle the project of this magnitude," said Commodore (Retd) Dharam Vir Yadav.
Yadav, who is the president of Mayfield Gardens RWA, said that he will challenge the appellate authority's decision to renew the licence in Supreme Court.

{{/usCountry}}Yadav said that as many as 25 licences were issued by director general of TCP to 21 companies to develop a single plotted colony called Sheetal Enclave, later known as Mayfield Gardens.
He alleged the licenses were issued by the TCP without determining the companies' experience and financial position in real estate. Sheetal International's licence was cancelled on July 14.
