The BMC health department has decided to allow her to keep the cow considering it to be a special case, that too without applying for a licence.

“There is no provision in law where anyone can hold a licence for keeping a cow in their homes within the city limits,” said Jairaj Thanekar, chief health officer of the civic body.

“However, just like we make a special exception for people sitting with cows near temples, we will consider her case too.” He rubbished off any rumours of her applying for a licence for keeping a cow since it did not fall within any law of state.

“After all it is not causing harm or nuisance to anyone and we will leave it alone and not take it away,” Thanekar added.
