TRYING TO fulfill his commitments made to the people during the recent local bodies elections, Mayor Dinesh Sharma on Friday kicked off a 20-day special sanitation drive in various localities.
All the municipal corporation departments, like health, engineering, street light, RR, enforcement and Jal Sansthan all together put up camps to listen to citizen grievances and dispose them accordingly.
As per the plan, one camp will be held for two days in each ward of every zone to make prompt disposal of people’s complaints.
The jobs like lifting the garbage, digging and cleaning of drainages, repairing the defective streetlight points, cleaning of parks and gardens, removing encroachments, repair of faulty hand-pumps, and covering the open manholes would be done during the special drive.
The new Mayor personally visited the camps held in Hazratganj, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Chowk, Aliganj, and Yahiyaganj wards to supervised the functioning there and collected the information regarding revenue collection at the camps.
He directed the officials concerned to give a patient hearing to people and remove their problems on priority.

He also directed the officials to clean the area’s nullah when he was told that the nullah was overflowed during the rainy season. Sharma issued similar instructions in all the wards he visited on Friday. At some places, he visited parks and asked the officials to ensure that benches and the playthings were in right order in parks.
Sharma similar camps would be organized in Vikramaditya, Aishbagh, Begam Hazratmahal and Lal Bahadur Shastri, Omnagar, and Shitladevi wards on December 4 and 5,under the special 20-day cleanliness drive.
