The animals rights charity was keen to continue working with renowned photographer Mary McCartney, 37, but the singer's eldest daughter put a condition before it.

She wanted PETA to assure her that her step-mum Heather was no longer involved in the organisation, and the group willingly bowed to her request. Now, Mary will continue to work on the "I would rather go naked than wear fur" campaign.

"Mary wanted to take photographs for PETA, which she has done in the past, but wanted assurances that Heather no longer represented the group," Femalefirst quoted one of Mary’s closest friends, as saying.

A spokesman for PETA said: "We have no further plans to work with Heather Mills. We are very grateful for Mary McCartney's involvement on the new campaign."

Mary has previously photographed Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee and Sophie Ellis Bextor for PETA campaigns. Her latest portraits feature British singer Jamelia, 26, posing with a rabbit.
