McCullum cleared of misconduct

The Kiwi wicketkeeper was cleared of a misconduct charge arising from his dismissal in the fifth ODI against the West Indies.

New Zealand wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum was cleared of a misconduct charge arising from his dismissal in the fifth and final one-day cricket international against the West Indies.

International Cricket Council match referee Mike Proctor found McCullum not guilty of breaching clause one of the game's code of conduct, which refers to conduct contrary to the spirit of the game.

McCullum, who had been reported by the match umpires — Darryl Harper, Tony Hill and third umpire Brent Bowden — pleaded not guilty to holding up his right hand in a disrespectful manner as he was given out by Hill for 10 in New Zealand's innings of 233.

Although New Zealand lost the game by three wickets, they took the five-match series 4-1.
