The Delhi High Court has warned that alternative arrangements would be made if the MCD fails to carry out the demolitions as per the court's order's.
"Let us work for alternative arrangements so that directions issued by the court are complied with," a division bench said while giving the MCD three more weeks to implement the orders.
The Bench, comprising judges Vijender Jain and Rekha Sharma, directed the MCD commissioner to implement the orders and file a status report to the court on May 18, the next date for hearing.
"Not a single big fish has been caught since the court ordered the local body on January 18 this year to raze those properties first whose owners were in power and authority," the Bench said.
"Tell us one powerful person against whom you have taken action for raising unauthorised constructions. Deputy commissioners have washed away the court orders and fresh illegal constructions are still going on," it added.
The Bench made these observations when one of the four court commissioners referred to an unauthorised commercial property belonging to a politician at Ashok Vihar in Rohini.
The court commissioner submitted that he had pointed out the property to the deputy commissioner on April 4, but so far no action had been taken because it belonged to a politician.
