The clearance certificate is issued at the citizen facility centre located on the corporation's premises in Gurgaon.

MCG commissioner Sudhir Rajpal has issued instructions to staff at the centre to not accept applications from

people seeking a fire-safety certificate if they have more than one form.

Besides, the commissioner also aims to keep a tab on ‘fake or false’ NOCs being allegedly issued in connivance with officials at the centre.

The move follows after Rajpal received complaints from senior officers at Chandigarh regarding fake NOCs.

During a meeting with joint commissioners and the heads of all departments on Thursday, Rajpal asked them to verify

documents properly before issuing NOCs.

As per the commissioner’s instructions, an applicant will now have to personally visit the citizen facility centre and submit his residence proof, employer's name and all other required documents.

The commissioner has also asked the departments and citizen facility centre staff to popularise the online application system for NOCs as it would help bring transparency.

“The online application will give us a person’s email id in addition to other required details. This will help us keep track of the applicant’s record,” he said.
