The corporation, which recently conducted a survey, has sent notices to the temple authorities directing them to get themselves registered within 15 days, so as to function sans hindrance.

As per the notices, the society concerned should first get itself registered. Following this, they should deposit Rs 25 per square metre and take them on a lease period for 30 years.

“If they don't do the same or act as per the notice, the temples will be declared illegal and action will be taken against them,” said Sudhir Rajpal, commissioner MCG, adding that the survey was conducted at the divisional commissioner
level.

“Following this, a survey was conducted to identify temples located on the panchayat land and being run by committees, which are not registered,” said Sanjay Chug, MCG press official.

Meanwhile, the notices have earned criticism from villagers, who held a panchayat on Thursday and decided to submit a memorandum to the Gurgaon DC, PC Meena, MC commissioner and CM BS Hooda.
