PTS assault protested
AngrY over the alleged beating of their colleagues by PTS jawans on board the Nauchandi Express and reports of some of the colleagues being tossed out of the train, the junior doctors at the MLN Medical College went on lightning strike here today.
Following the strike the services at the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital affiliated to the Medical College came to a grinding halt.
A batch of junior doctors had reportedly gone to Meerut to appear in the MS/MD examinations.
A clash between them and some PTS jawans or trainee PAC personnel reportedly took place at the Rampur railway station over the occupancy of berths. The reports said that the trainee PAC personnel tried to occupy the berths reserved for the junior doctors which led to clash.
Having declared the strike the doctors marched upto the Medical College crossing and staged a road blockade which lasted for over four hours.
As a result traffic in one part of the city was thrown out of gear.

{{/usCountry}}Junior doctors burnt the effigy of the Railway Minister and demanded action against the guilty PAC trainees besides compensation to the injured doctors.
Though the district officials tried to persuade the agitating junior doctors to lift the chakka jam but they were adamant to continue with the protest dharna and demanded that the DM should come to listen to their demands.
What seemed to have incensed the junior doctors more were reports about the two missing junior doctors--Dinesh Pal Singh and SP Singh.
The junior doctors claimed that their colleagues--Dr RP Singh and Dr Rohit Srivastava--were injured along with several others. They said that they were frantically trying to contact their colleagues on their mobiles but in vain.
Later, the agitating junior doctors were persuaded by the ADM City and the Principal of the Medical College to lift the dharna. The junior doctors also handed over a memorandum containing their demands to the ADM who promised to forward it to the government.
