Heavy police force was deployed outside the court premises while activists of various Hindu organisations, like the Shiv Sena and Bajrang Dal, protested outside and expressed their solidarity with the woman. “We are ready to go to any extent to protect the honour and respect of our daughters and sisters,” said Kapil Tyagi of the Hindu Jagran Manch.

The woman’s family members accompanied her to the court. The woman has accused madarsa teacher Hafiz Sannaullah, the village pradhan and two others of forced conversion and has also charged them with gang rape.

Police have arrested village pradhan Nawab Khan, his daughter Nishat and Hafiz Sannaullah’s wife Samarjahan and booked them under various sections including instigating the woman for conversion. “The girl has shown exemplary courage by first escaping the clutches of her abductors and then exposing the goings-on in the madarsa,” said BJP leader Satyaveer Tyagi.

Meanwhile, the Centre has sought a factual report from the UP government on the incident.

Victim’s fallopian tube missing
The woman’s medical examination has revealed that one of her fallopian tubes is missing. The matter has been referred to Meerut medical college. A two-by-seven-inch incision mark on the girl’s abdomen had raised doubts that her kidney may have been extracted.

BJP leader Bajpai said the name of the doctor who operated upon the girl should be revealed.
