Meet against honour killings

Society should stop taunting the families whose girls elope with their paramours as they lead to honour killings, observed villagers at anti-honour killing workshop organised by NGO Nirman on Sunday afternoon at village Morna to sensitise the villagers.

More than 50 villagers from Morna, Gejha, Bishanpura, Hajipur, Nithari, Baruala and Sahdara participated at the workshop. Seventy-year-old Ratan Singh Choudhary who chaired the workshop said, “Nobody has right to kill anybody but we have to search the reasons for honour killing.”

Mohinder Mukhiya blamed upbringing and freedom to girls as causes of rising elopement cases.
