The event is being organised as an activity of the DRC which has been set up at Manav Vikas Sangrahalay of GB Pant Social Science Institute, Jhusi.

Dalit artistes and litterateurs hailing from Allahabad, Fatehpur, Agra, Aligarh and Bundelkhand region will participate in the event. The conference will be based on the theme of variable aspects of societal freedom.

According to project director Badri Narayan Tiwari, the main objective behind holding the conference is to inculcate a sense of identity and belongingness among the Dalit community members.

"The conference is based on the theme of active participation of the community members so that they interact with each other and acknowledge their importance in the present scenario as well as the part played by their ancestors in nation-building", said Tiwari.

It is just an effort to give recognition to the marginalised community, he added.
"Freedom is perceived distinctly by people and at present the Dalit community is carving out its niche in the society through their literature which is still unknown to many.

The event will be in the form of a workshop in which the following activities will take place: Swatantrata chaupal (discussion), Itihaas charcha (discussion on historical topics), Kavi gosthi (poets conference), Mela (fair) and poster exhibition.
