The hydrant remained closed for more than 15 hours due to the BJP’s public meeting on the main road connecting new and old City areas. The road going towards Old City from Roshanpura was closed from Banganga Square.

This hydrant supplies water in the areas including Khanugaon, Gandhi Nagar, Karond, Nariyalkheda, Sanjay Nagar, Atal Ayyub Nagar, JP Nagar, Suraj Nagar, Bhadbhada and Prempura.

BMC tankers carry out supply in these areas through about 300 trips of tankers. But, water supply could not be carried out as the hydrant was closed from Wednesday night to 3 pm today. According to information, over 100 tankers supply water in areas of Karond and 50 tankers of water are being supplied at Gandhi Nagar, where some of the sump tanks depend on the supply through tankers
