"Jharkhand has immense potential in food processing, so I have asked the officials of the departments concerned to provide all types of facilities to investors interested in the sector without delay," Soren said after convening a meeting in this regard on Wednesday.

After having a dialogue with some investors, Soren said he had realised that farmers and other people could make fast progress in agriculture and livestock through the food processing sector.

Union Minister of State for Food Processing Subodh Kant Sahay said he told Soren that Jharkhand could be an important destination in this sector and investors were interested in doing business in the state.

"Food processing is a sector that can provide employment to the landless poor. For the farmers, it will help in getting marketing avenues," Sahay said in a release in Ranchi.

"In two or three months work will start on setting up the food park," Sahay said and expressed hope that the sector would attract maximum investment for the benefit of the villagers.
