Atul Shah, President, State Merchants Association made this announcement in a rally of representative of merchants organisation in such corporations.
He alleged that the state government was not serious about scrapping Octroi and escort fee in 15 D-class Corporations following which merchants and businessmen in these corporations decided to go on an indefinife strike from August 9 on the occasion of 'Krantidiwas'.
Shah also threatened to intensify the agitation if the government does not look into their demands and said activists will immolate themselves in front of the Mantralaya on August 19, in case of inaction.
