MIC invites Hindraf for possible talks and partnership

The Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) has invited the leaders of banned Hindu Rights Action Force for possible talks and partnership saying that both share a common goal of development of minority Indian community in the country.

The country's largest ethnic Indian political party, (MIC), said that it is ready to consider views and suggestions by Hindraf on how they could work together for the benefit of the Indian interests.

MIC secretary-general, Dr Subramaniam, has invited Hindraf leaders to join the party, saying that since both of them shared a common goal of elevating the living standard of the community, they would be able to achieve the objective better if they work united.

He was speaking to reporters after officiating the National Temple Conference in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

Subramaniam was reacting to a Hindraf leader P Uthayakumar's interview on Saturday, after his release from detention centre, in which he vowed to continue their fight for the "marginalised" ethnic Indian community.
