Thunderstorms accompanied by rain lashed several parts of the State disrupting communication and road traffic even as three persons were killed when a house collapsed in Hardoi district.

In the State capital two bouts of dust storm lashed the city. The speed of the storm, which peaked at 75 km per hour and lasted for nearly one hour and thirty minutes, damaged trees, hoardings, power cables and other traffic and communication networks. Several cars and two-wheelerswere damaged as trees or their branches fell over them.

The thunderstorm also adversely affected the mango crop in Malihabad, Mohan and Mall around the State capital, reports said.

The first spell of storm hit the city at 3.15 am and the second, and more stronger, lashed Lucknow at around 4 am. The storm was accompanied rain. The city received 10.8 mm of rain.

The weatherman predicted more storms as the systems that brought them on Saturday's wee hours have not receded yet.

Three persons were killed in sleep when the roof of their house collapsed in Hardoi district last night.
