Mild quake hits India-Myanmar border

The earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale occured at 12.26 am and was also felt in Shillong.

An earthquake of moderate intensity occurred in the India-Myanmar border region in the wee hours on Saturday.

Measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale, the tremor struck at 12.26 am and was also felt in Shillong, the Meterological Department said in New Delhi.

The quake had its epicentre at 27.1 North latitude and 96.3 East longitude, it said.
