Mild tremors of 3.8 magnitude on the Richter Scale were felt on Friday in Siliguri and its neighbouring areas.

Seismological unit of the Regional Meteorological Centre in Kolkata told PTI that the quake hit at 2.16pm with its epicentre near the Indo-Bangladesh order in North Bengal.

The tremors were also felt in Jalpaiguri district, official sources said.
"The tremor's focal depth was 33 km under the earth surface," official said.
There was no report of any loss of life or damage to property in the region.
