A mild tremor rocked some villages in Dindigul District of Tamil Nadu around midnight on Thursday night, revenue officials said on Friday.

The tremors were felt in Puliyur Natham, Kulipatti and Idayankolam villages, they said.

The people of the village felt the floor of their houses trembling and heard "noise similar to a big boulder coming down the rocky hill".
According to officials, some people also saw vessels in their house being toppled and ran out of their house in fear.
The officials said the walls and floor in some houses developed crack. They had informed the geological department, officials said.
