Two major gunbattles between militants and security forces are on in central and south Kashmir's Budgam and Pulwama districts. One militant has been killed so far in Budgam encounter.
An exchange of fire between militants and security forces started in the morning at Hashru village. The militants, whose number is believed to be more than one, are holed up inside a residential area.

Budgam area, 30 km away from Srinagar, has been witnessing sporadic firing from militants in the last three days.
