Preliminary reports that militants opened fire on an army patrol in Lolab area, 130 km north of Srinagar.

The army refused to confirm casualty immediately. The exchange of fire in Kupwara district has come just a day after the army claimed to have killed five militants near the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran Sector.
