The suspects — members of an outlawed tribal militant group blamed for scores of attacks in southwestern Balochistan province — were captured after the bombings in Lahore on September 22, 2005.

Judge Mukarram Khan handed down the sentences on Monday, prosecutor Rana Bakhtiyar said, adding that the trial took place in a prison for security reasons.

Bakhtiyar said the suspects confessed to their involvement in the bombings, which killed 11 people and wounded many more.

Police said the men belonged to the Balochistan Liberaion Army, an ethnic-Baloch tribal group that Pakistan banned in April over a series of attacks in the province in recent years.
