The poll campaign in Manipur has been affected following reported threat by two militant groups to Congress and BJP to stop all poll-related activities.
"We may concentrate on grass-root level workers of Congress since we cannot openly campaign for the forthcoming polls," a senior Congress leader said on condition of anonymity here today.
The Congress leader said the party was aware of media reports that the militants had "banned" poll-related activities of Congress alleging "failure" of Secular Progressive Front ministry in developing the state and preventing atrocities on local people.
However, he said the party has not received any letter or phone call from any militant outfit criticising performance of Congress-led SPF ministry in the state.

Separatist KYKL has reportedly threatened to kill any person campaigning for BJP's state unit president Th Chaoba Singh saying, he should be removed from the party post.
On the reported ban, Chaoba Singh said everything related to the polls, including the campaign, would be decided by the party's general body or executive committee in next few days.

Meanwhile, normally crowded offices of BJP and Congress wore a deserted look with party workers and leaders failing to turn up in spite of tight security arrangements.
