The Thane police have arrested a flour mill owner from Bhiwandi for allegedly attempting to rape a 13-year-old girl, the police said on Friday.

According to police inspector Dileep Suryavanshi of the Shanti Nagar police station in Bhiwandi, the victim used to regularly visit the flour mill to get wheat flour.

On Thursday, the accused KB Yadav, 52, allegedly dragged the victim inside his shop and attempted to rape her.

He had sexually assaulted her previously, the police said.

The girl later told her parents, who lodged a police complaint. The accused has been charged under Sections 376, 506, 354 of the Indian Penal Code.
