Minimum temperature increases in Punjab, Haryana

Minimum temperature climbed up in Punjab and Haryana with mercury rising by about three degrees Celsius in the region.

Minimum temperature climbed up in Punjab and Haryana on Tuesday with mercury rising by about three degrees Celsius in the region.

The minimum temperature was one to five degrees Celsius above normal in most parts of the region, MET office said here.

In the plains of Punjab and Haryana, Amritsar was the coldest place with a low of 6.6 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal.

While, Narnaul settled at a low of seven degrees Celsius, the minimum at Ambala was 9.3 degrees Celsius.

Among the other places, Ludhiana had a low of 9.5 degrees Celsius and Patiala 9.6 degrees Celsius.

Karnal had a low of 10 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal followed by 10.8 degrees Celsius at Chandigarh, which was three notches above normal.

While, Hisar had a low of 12.8 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal, the minimum temperature at Rohtak was 12 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal.

The MET office predicted partly cloudy sky with rains at isolated places in the region during the next 24 hours.
