Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday arrested a district mining officer in Jharkhand's Bokaro district while he was accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000, an official said.

Deo Narayan Prajapati had filed a complaint with the vigilance department against Arjun Singh. A trap was laid and Singh was arrested while accepting the bribe.

Singh has been brought to state capital Ranchi for interrogation, the official added.
More than 160 government employees, including those of officer-rank, have been arrested in Jharkhand while accepting bribe during the last nine years.
