Both were reacting on the protest staged by Thakur's supporters at vigilance office in Dharamsala on his birthday on Thursday.

In a joint statement issued here, they advised Thakur to refrain from such acts as no person was above law.

"When PM Manmohan Singh is ready to appear before the central investigation agency then how can MP Anurag Thakur expect that he should treated exceptionally," said the Congress leaders, adding that without being summoned for any investigation, Thakur should not have entered the premises of vigilance office.

"Anurag Thakur should not have reacted irresponsibly when he was duly informed by the vigilance officials to appear on October 31," they said.

Sharma and Bharti also accused Thakur of not respecting the law, saying he and his supporters made a mockery of the system.
