Minister satisfied over progress of schemes

THE WOMAN and child development minister Kusum Mehdale expressed satisfaction over the progress of different schemes run by the Department at the conclusion of the two-day review meeting of district level field officers on Wednesday.

The physical and financial achievements of the districts were analysed on the outcome budget criteria introduced by Centre under which the targets are to be achieved on monthly basis. Chhindwara, Tikamgarh, Gwalior, Mandla and Sheopur districts were categorised as best performers as per these criteria.

It was informed that about 40 per cent of the annual budget of the department had been utilised up to August end, a better performance compared to last financial year, a department press release said.

The minister at the conclusion of meeting advised providing nutritious foods like chocolates, soya biscuits, groundnuts, cashew nuts and fruits to the beneficiaries including children, pregnant and lactating mothers at anganwadis.

Principal Secretary of department Prashant Mehta congratulated district officials for good performance in Bal Sanjeevani Abhiyan.

UNICEF representatives held sensitization session on recently launched Mother and Child Protection Card.
