Minor girl from Assam pushed into sex racket in MP, rescued

The police on Wednesday night rescued a teenaged girl hailing from Assam during the routine vehicle checking in Dewas. The girl was being pushed into a sex racket. All the accused have been arrested.

The police on Wednesday night rescued a teenaged girl hailing from Assam during vehicle checking in Dewas. Six persons including a BJP leader have been arrested. The police have booked them for human trafficking and rape.

Those arrested include BJP leader Hamid Sadar, revenue inspector of Dewas Municipal Corporation (DMC) Sabir Alias Lala, DMC employee Rohot Jalodia, Yaqub Sheikh, Raja and Mumtaz. The patrolling police intercepted a car in which four persons were traveling with a minor girl.

The police got suspicious and quizzed the girl. The minor girl revealed that she was abducted from a district of Assam and was taken to Mumbai. Then she was brought to Indore by a person, Rakesh hailing from Indore, who had sold her to a woman, Mumtaz in Dewas.

"The woman intended to push the minor into a sex racket", said the police. The woman had sent the minor along with the accused-- Hamid Sadar, Sabir Alias Lala, Rohot Jalodia and Yaqub Sheikh. All of them sexually assaulted her, said police.
