Mischief monger puts doc number on porn site

Since January this year, a Gurgaon-based orthopedic surgeon's phone hasn't stopped ringing. And the reason is not distress calls by patients but customers of a porn website. On an average, Dr Subhash Yadav, a resident of Sector 14, gets 50 calls a day between 10pm and 5am from people in India and other countries.

What has added to the doctor's woes is the inability of the Gurgaon police to act on the case. It has been four months and the cyber crime wing has not been able to do anything.

"We have sent an e-mail to the website asking for details but we have not received any reply till now. We are working on the case and we will crack it soon," said cyber cell inspector Suresh.

The orthopedic surgeon started receiving the calls on January 9. He did not understand why people were calling him and sending him messages. After several such calls, he got annoyed and threatened a caller with police action. It was that caller who told him that his number had been posted on a porn website by the name of one Reena.

"Though my daughter would often pick up calls at night when I would be busy, but now I can not leave my phone with her for even a single minute. I can not change my number as all my patients have this number," he added.
