FOUR UNIDENTIFIED Scorpio-borne miscreants chased the vehicle of a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA from Sahjanwa constituency Dev Narain Singh in the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
On receiving the information, the Special Operation Group (SOG) team of Gorakhpur swung into action and the miscreants escaped.
After the incident, Singh and his supporters were in a state of fear and restrained their movements.
Talking to HT, Singh said the unidentified miscreants chased him from Indira Bal Vihar Crossing, when he was on his way to Sahjanwa.
He said in a bid to foil their move, he drove his vehicles on the busy roads of the city.
He then went to the Gorakhpur railway station and immediately returned from there. But the vehicle continued to chase him.
At last, he entered a hotel at Golghar and decided to pass the night but the miscreants reached there. Meanwhile, Singh contacted the SOG team members on the telephone.
According to sources, the SOG rushed to the spot and found the Scorpio parked in front of the hotel.
But as they went to get the first hand information from Singh in a room, the miscreants managed to flee from the hotel with the vehicle.
