AN 11-YEAR-OLD boy who went missing on Friday night was found dead near Idgah Hills on Saturday morning. It is suspected that he was murdered.
According to information, Sunny, who lived behind Qaisar Bungalow, was playing outside the house in the evening when he suddenly went missing.
When the family realised that the boy was not around for quite sometime, they searched for him. Later in the night, they approached the police and a case was registered.
On Saturday morning a sanitary worker spotted the body of a child lying on the garbage behind Ashiyana Apartments. The body had marks of injuries on the neck.
CSP (Shahjehanabad) Ajay Pandey said that the preliminary medical report suggested that the child has been strangulated to death. There is no clue yet about the accused. Sunny lived with his mother who runs a tea stall near All Saints’ School. She had separated from her husband Bhagwan Das several years ago. The child was playing with her grandson till 9 pm on Friday night.
Bhagwan Das lives elsewhere and owns a paan kiosk. Also, there are certain disputes within the family and the police are interrogating Das’s relatives. The police have ruled out any sexual assault on the boy. Also, the financial status of the family is not such that the child would have been abducted for ransom. The Shahjehanabad police are investigating the matter and waiting for post-mortem report.

Last year a child, Raza, was abducted and the accused had buried the boy after killing him. Another boy Gaurav was abducted from Malipura and the body recovered from the jungles near Raisen.
