The police suspect that the child has been murdered either by drowning or through strangulation. The killer had tied a stone to the body in order to keep it under water.

Police said the child, five-year-old Ajay Kushwaha, was missing since March 2. The police had been looking for him ever since. However, the residents saw the feet of the child on the side of lake towards Khanu Gaon today afternoon.

As the water level was low on the side, the body became visible. The police found the stone tied to the child’s feet. No injury marks were found on the body leading to suspicion that the killer either strangulated the child to death or drowned him.

The deceased’s mother works at a candle-manufacturing unit and lived here with Ajay and two other daughters. The deceased’s parents live separately. The deceased’s father lives in Ganj Basoda and wanted his son to live with him.
