The man was identified as Vineet Kumar and he lived with his family at Sunlight Colony. While Vineet's family members alleged he was kidnapped and murdered by neighbours over personal enmity, police suspect it to be a case of suicide.

Vineet was missing since June 13 and his Bullet motorcycle was found abandoned on the DND flyover. Police said the questioning of a women friend of Vineet revealed that he was depressed and he apparently committed suicide by jumping into the Yamuna from the DND Flyway.

Enraged over the incident, the family members and relatives of Vineet gathered outside the Sunlight police station. They said police inaction resulted in the murder of Vineet.

Vineet's father Rakesh claimed their neighbours had been threatening them with dire consequences over Vineet's brother Tanuj befriending a girl named Priyanka, who lives in the same locality.

A case of abduction was registered at the Sunlight Colony police station on June 14.
