In the bill, the current metre reading was mentioned as Rs 19,999 and the previous at 8195. The department has issued a bill of 11804-unit consumption of power by Dr Singh.

Singh said the general bill for two months of his residence ranged between Rs 800 and Rs 900 and the last bill he paid on April 25, 2005 was Rs 544. He said even today (on June 29, 2006) his metre reading was 11500 but the department issued him a bill of Rs 19,999 units. Singh said officials told his aide that when a camp would be held for bill correction, his problem would be solved.
