Police fired in the air to disperse a mob that injured five policemen and burnt down a police jeep while protesting a schoolboy's death in an accident on Wednesday.

None was injured in the police firing and ten people were arrested for arson, police said.

Trouble broke out when a six-year-old schoolboy was crushed to death by a speeding car while walking to nearby government primary school near Randhi Bazar on Wednesday.
Angry locals blocked Darbhanga-Sitamarhi road and burnt the jeep and threw stones at policemen, they said adding, those injured included the officer in-charge of Jale police station.
Senior police and civil officials have rushed to the spot and have recovered the body, they said.
