Mobile health clinics for 11 tribal districts

The 11 blocks selected under the scheme are those where only one or two doctors were available until now. These blocks are Bhimpur in Betul district, Sondawa in Jhabua, Mawai in Mandla, Bajag in Dindori, Budhar in Shahadol, Pushparajgarh in Anuppur, Karahal in Sheopur, Birsa in Balaghat, Pali in Umaria, Kusumi in Sidhi and Kundam block in Jabalpur district.

In these blocks, different institutions will conduct mobile health clinics. `Sewa Bharti (Madhya Bharat)’, Bhopal has been assigned Bhimpur, Sondawa, Mawai and Karahal. `Jyotsana Jan Kalyan Samiti’ of Sidhi will conduct mobile health clinics in Kusumi block and `Dr Jain Video On Wheels’ would do so in Bajag, Budhar, Pushparajgarh, Birsa, Pali and Kundam blocks.

The Deendayal Arogya Raths (mobile health clinics) will visit villages of these blocks and provide facilities of medical examination, treatment, consultation and necessary medicines free of cost. They will function for six days every week as per prescribed programme.

One mobile health unit each has been provided to these blocks, which comprises a doctor, nurse and compounder. Each vehicle will be equipped with facilities for antenatal and post-partem tests, malaria test, TB detection etc.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will formally launch the scheme at 10 am on May 26 at Ravindra Bhawan here. Rajya Sabha member Sushma Swaraj will be the chief guest and State Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Ajay Vishnoi would be special guest on the occasion.
